CNN guest trashes Trump for tweeting about World Series while Pittsburgh mourned victims of synagogue slaughter

Appearing on CNN to discuss Donald Trump's response to the horrific shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue that claimed 11 lives, a CNN guest called out the president for tweeting about pitching changes in a World Series game as the city of Pittsburgh publically mourned.

As candlelight vigils filled the streets in the Squirrel Hill community where the Tree of Life Synagogue is located, Trump tweeted, "Watching the Dodgers/Red Sox final innings. It is amazing how a manager takes out a pitcher who is loose & dominating through almost 7 innings, Rich Hill of Dodgers, and brings in nervous reliever(s) who get shellacked. 4 run lead gone. Managers do it all the time, big mistake!"

According to former Democratic spokesperson Rochelle Ritchie, the president failed to recognize that a large part of the country was grieving.

"Do you believe that the president's tone matched the political moment last night?" Ritchie was asked by CNN host Christi Paul.

"No, I don't," Ritchie replied. "I think what we have seen with these bomb scares across the country, as well as the unfortunate massacre that we saw in Pittsburgh, is an example of hate speech turning into hate crimes and I would have thought that the president would have been more somber and more angry in his rhetoric or his response simply because of his daughter Ivanka and his son-in-law Jared Kushner being of the Jewish faith."

"Instead we saw the president tweeting about baseball and managing a baseball team instead of managing the tensions in this country," she continued. "It's disheartening to see this president come the way he has and say possibly a gun would have prevented this massacre inside that synagogue."
