CNN panel goes completely off the rails when conservative pundit equates women protesting to an alt-right mob
October 10, 2018
CNN anchor had to interrupt a panel after conservative commentator and senior columnist for The Daily Beast, Matt Lewis, likened women protesting Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the alt-right members behind the fatal "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville.
"Imagine, let's turn this around. Hillary Clinton wins and she names a Supreme Court nominee, Republicans are upset," Lewis suggested. "Imagine if there was a Democratic senator and his wife at a restaurant and the alt-right -- you know, Richard Spencer's crew -- comes rolling in yelling at them berating them trying to shame them, and they had to leave a restaurant, imagine that."
"Okay, Matt -- Matt -- Matt -- Matt," host Don Lemon interrupted. "You had me until you said alt-right."
At that point, the panel descended into a shouting match, with Lewis claiming the left is a "mob."
Richard Spencer has been banned from 26 countries for his White Nationalism.
His neighbors in Alexandria, Virginia complained about him after his neighbors in Whitefish, Montana basically ran him out of town.
Lemon ended the segment by saying Lewis' claim was "just beyond the pale."
