CNN's Jack Kingston hammered for smearing Jim Jordan accusers: 'The guy was showering with students'

A CNN panel descended into a shouting match on Saturday as former Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA) lashed out at reported victims of sexual misconduct in the Ohio State scandal swirling around the Freedom Caucus leader.

"What do you make of Jordan's defense here? CNN's Suzanne Malveaux asked. "Because I've heard the accusers, and I've also heard his side."

"I know Jim well," Kingston said of his former House GOP colleague. "He's a man of integrity, he's a man of honesty, and he also took on the Speaker of the House from his own home state."

Kingston concluded that Rep. Jordan could not be implicated in the scandal, because the law firm investigating the alleged abuse has not yet requested an interview with the congressman.

"They have not contacted Jim Jordan himself, if the allegations were serious at this point, he would have been interviewed," Kingston argued. "He's not been interviewed, he's not been contacted."

Kingston also followed Jordan's lead in attacking the accusers, a tactic that offended Democratic Party strategist Jon Summers.

"I think it's too early to malign the character of the alleged victims in this case, I don't think it's appropriate," Summers argued.

The segment then descended into a shouting match, as former Rep. Kingston continued to attack the victims to defend the alleged perpetrator.

"Do you not think it's odd that this guy was taking showers with students when there was a facility for staff that was separate from it?" Summers asked. "If it smells like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck."
