CNN’s John Berman ridicules DeSantis: ‘You know you’re in trouble when Fox News doesn't condone it’

CNN's John Berman said that Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) "monkey" comments about Andrew Gillum must have been terrible if Fox New said they condemn it.

Gillum, the mayor of Tallahassee, won the gubernatorial primary on Tuesday. In light of his win, DeSantis said that voters shouldn't "monkey up the state."

"You know you're in trouble when Fox News comes on not long after you say something and says 'we do not condone this language.' And I'll also note that the DeSantis campaign hasn't apologized for it yet," Berman said.

Political commentator Amanda Carpenter said: "The fact that Fox News had to issue a statement saying they will not condone that language tells you something. This is offensive. The network that gave this candidate millions of dollars in free airtime is putting him in the time-out box for a little while."
