CNN's Keith Boykin crushes Trump's refusal to apologize: He's 'the chief purveyor of bullying in the country'

CNN contributor Keith Boykin on Monday hammered President Donald Trump for his continued refusal to apologize or show contrition for anything he and his White House have said or done.

Even as Trump supporter Rob Astorino bemoaned the fact that the media was still talking about a White House staffer making fun of Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for dying of brain cancer, Boykin pointed out that this was still a story because the White House has still never issued a public statement saying that such jokes are not appropriate.

"This comes in the very week after Melania Trump begins her 'Be Best' campaign to stop bullying," he pointed out. "And the White House is the chief purveyor of bullying in the country. The White House under the Trump administration refuses to apologize for an insulting and attack against John McCain as a war hero."

Boykin went on to say that a total lack of contrition is a pattern with Trump, as he never apologizes for being cruel or owns up when he tells lies.

Among other things, Boykin noted Trump "didn't apologize for the Central Park Five lie, didn't apologize for five-and-a-half years of lying about President Barack Obama's birth certificate... he still hasn't apologized to John McCain for denying he was a war hero because he was captured!"

Boykin also noted that the same people shrugging off the White House's refusal to apologize to McCain for mocking his cancer are the same people who were up in arms when comedian Michelle Wolf made fun of White House staffers during this year's White House Correspondents Association dinner.
