Colbert: Siri is 'like Laura Ingraham, but less robotic'

Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert says that Siri, the electronic female voice on Apple's newest iPhone, might just be the perfect Republican presidential candidate.

As Raw Story revealed earlier this week, Siri can help locate strip clubs and escort services, but when asked to find a nearby abortion clinic it only responds with a list of distant crisis pregnancy centers.

In fact, The New York Times reported that Siri couldn't locate a single abortion clinic in Manhattan.

"Really? In New York?" Colbert wondered. "I think they've got one at the top of the Empire State Building."

"The point is: Siri is clearly an arch conservative woman. She's like Laura Ingraham, but less robotic."

That's not the only problem with Apple's artificial intelligence software. People who purchased an iPhone 4S in India this week were disappointed to learn that Siri doesn't understand some of the regional accents in the country.

"The Republicans still can't decide who to get behind and Siri is such a strong conservative voice," Colbert explained. "Maybe she should run for president."

"Siri, have you had an affair with Herman Cain?" the Comedy Central host asked his iPhone.

"I was young and I needed the job," the phone replied.
