President Donald Trump and ousted Fox News anchor Eric Bolling have had a longstanding friendly relationship, but Mediaite.com reported Sunday that the sole words of comfort Trump offered Bolling on the death of his son were in the form of retweets.
Bolling's 19-year-old son and only child Eric Chase was found dead on Friday mere hours after Fox News announced that it made the decision to part ways with Bolling after a scandal in which multiple women accused the Fox host of sexual harassment.
Trump has maintained affable relations with Bolling thanks to Bolling's early support of the former reality TV game show host's candidacy and ongoing boosterism of Trump's presidency. When Bolling's show "The Specialists" premiered on Fox, Trump granted the show an exclusive interview. Trump has also promoted Bolling's book The Swamp: Washington's Murky Pool of Corruption and Cronyism and How Trump Can Drain It.
However, in the two days since Eric Chase died, Trump has retweeted messages of sympathy from others, but offered no consoling words of his own.
