Connecticut dad arrested for allegedly bullying his autistic son's bullies

Police in Naugatuck, Connecticut arrested the 40-year-old father of a 12-year-old boy with autism when the father allegedly threatened a pair of boys who he believed had been tormenting his son.

According to WFSB Channel 3, police opened an investigation into the incident not long after Carlos Stuart confronted the two boys on Oct. 28.

The mother of the autistic boy told Channel 5 that her son has been the target of constant harassment in school and that the boy's father was just trying to look out for his son.

"My son went to his father and said 'these kids are picking on me,'" she said. "'They're not stopping. Can you come to the bus stop with me so they could stop and leave me alone?'"

But at the bus stop, the other boys began to bully Stuart's son right in front of him, which apparently made him very angry.

According to the two boys, Stuart swore at them and challenged them to fight.

Stuart was arrested and charged with break of peace and released on $1,000 bond.

This is not Stuart's first run-in with the law. He was charged in December 2012 with second-degree assault and threatening, among other charges.

Stuart is due back in court on Dec. 18.
