Conservative on CNN crashes and burns after trying to blame Democrats for racist robo-calls in Georgia

Conservative CNN contributor Rob Astorino on Monday tried to tie the racist robo-calls that have polluted the Georgia gubernatorial election to the Democratic party -- and got smacked down by fellow guest Symone Sanders.

After panelist David Gergen noted the "racially-charged" calls, which hurled slurs at Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams, Astorino urged "caution."

"That happens everywhere," Astorino said, over the objections of Gergen.

"The one cautionary tale is you don't know who's actually doing these kind of calls," he added. "Sometimes the actual side that would gain from it does it or somebody as a surrogate does it."

"Democrats in Georgia are not running racist robocalls accusing Stacey Abrams of being 'a poor man's Aunt Jemima', that's ridiculous," retorted a clearly outraged Sanders as Astorino sputtered. "Brian Kemp is about to lose the race and he will do anything and everything he can in my opinion to steal this election. So the best way to stamp that out is for people to vote."
