Incumbent Rep. Dan Donovan (R-NY) went up against former Representative Michael Grimm (R-NY) in 2016 after Grimm was convicted of tax evasion. But in Tuesday's rematch, Donovan ultimately prevailed.
Grimm went after Donovan claiming he was a weak Republican who doesn't support President Donald Trump. Donovan voted against the repeal of Obamacare and the GOP tax bill. In a weird twist, Donovan told Grimm that he'd seek a pardon for him from Trump if Grimm dropped out of the race.
Interestingly, Grimm was endorsed by Steve Bannon and Anthony Scaramucci.
