Rep. Josh Riley (D-NY) was admonished by Republicans after he unloaded a profane rant about President Donald Trump's spending bill on the House floor.
"Where I come from, we make things," Riley said in his Wednesday floor speech. "We've kept our heads down, we've kept our sleeves rolled up, we've kept our shoulder to the wheel, and all we've asked for is a fair shot and for this place to stop screwing us over."
"But you can't help yourselves," he continued. "You bail out the banks while neglecting rural America. You've rigged the economy so the corporate PACs that are funding your campaigns make huge profits, jacking up costs on folks who can't afford it."
Riley noted that Trump's bill would close rural hospitals and "kill good blue-collar manufacturing jobs."
"Don't tell me you give a s-— about the middle class when all you're doing is s------- on the middle class," he said.
At that point, the Republican presiding over the Speaker's chair admonished Riley "to avoid vulgar speech."
"We do have families," he said.
"Thank you, Mr. Speaker, for reminding us of the language we should be using in this chamber," Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) added.
Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) fired back at the Republicans.
"I hope when the president comes here next, you'll admonish him for the language he uses," he insisted.
