President Donald Trump earlier this month delivered mass pardons to violent criminal who attacked the United States Capitol building on his behalf four years ago.
However, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is making sure they can't get away with everything.
NBC News reports that Pritzker has directed the Illinois Department of Central Management Services to not hire any person who took part in the January 6th riots at the Capitol despite the fact that Trump's pardon ended their status as convicted felons.
“These rioters attacked law enforcement officers protecting people in the Capitol, disrupted the peaceful transfer of power, and undermined bedrock principles of American democracy,” Pritzker argued in a written directive. “Our State workforce must reflect the values of Illinois and demonstrate honesty, integrity, and loyalty to serving the taxpayers. No one who attempts to overthrow a government should serve in government.”

NBC News goes on to cite reporting from the Chicago Sun-Times estimating that at least 50 Illinois residents who took part in the riots were pardoned by Trump, which means that they will have to find jobs in the private sector as long as they remain in the state.
Many pardoned Capitol rioters have already run afoul of the law in the days after Trump's executive action, and one earlier this week was even shot dead after resisting arrest by police in Indiana.
