Democrat Eric Swalwell schools Fox host over Kavanaugh investigation: FBI is not interviewing all witnesses

On Wednesday, a day after President Donald Trump mocked Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's testimony at a rally, Fox News obtained a letter from a former boyfriend that contradicted Dr. Ford's testimony that she suffered from claustrophobia, fear of flying and that she'd never helped anyone prepare for a polygraph.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) appeared on Fox News and explained why the outsized attention being paid to Dr. Ford's ex-boyfriend demonstrates a willful effort to undermine her.

"It should all be investigated," Swalwell said. "But I don't think it's fair to selectively try to contradict what Dr. Ford said, but to just ignore all of the contradicting evidence about what Judge Kavanaugh said."

"So if the FBI is going to pursue this or Chairman Grassley wants them to pursue this they should also pursue the roommates of Judge Kavanaugh who said that he was incoherently drunk," Swalwell pointed out.

Swalwell and the Fox host then argued over whether it's unfair for the FBI to neglect to interview multiple witnesses with apparent information about Kavanaugh's past.

"I know a number of people who have contradicted Judge Kavanaugh's accounts that have minimized his drinking have not been able to get ahold of the FBI," Swalwell said.

"That Debbie Ramirez has provided twenty names to the FBI and that those people have not been contacted according to Debbie Ramirez's lawyers. I hope that they're all contacted because I think that's the best way to find the truth is to interview all of the witnesses."
