Democratic Congressman blasts Trump for the reason Americans are losing faith in government

Joaquín Castro, Democratic House of Representatives for Texas's 20th congressional district wants to ensure that people are not getting distracted with the latest tactics of President Trump.

Recently, headlines hit that President Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen, allegedly received more than half a million dollars from a Russian oligarch.

In an interview with MSNBC's Chris Matthews he asserted that crooked politics and the spread of fake news make citizens trust the government less and less.

"Their goal is to create enough confusion and sew enough doubt and skepticism and resentment it basically interferes with people's trust in government," Castro said.
