Denver mayor’s son freaks out on cop who pulled him over: 'My dad is the mayor you f*cking f*ggot!'

The most entitled phrases uttered generally promote the power and identity of the accused. Such was the case of the son of Denver Mayor Michael Handcock who went off on a rant against an Aurora police officer.

Jordan Handcock was pulled over shortly before 8 a.m. in March for speeding in the Denver suburb.

“My dad’s the mayor, you f*cking f*ggot,” the younger Hancock is seen saying in a video clip leaked to Contact7.

“Of Denver? Well you’re in Aurora,” was the response from the officer.

“Guess what, I’m about to get you fired you f*cking b*tch,” Hancock said later.

He was ultimately cited for driving 65 miles-per-hour in a 40 mile-per-hour zone.

The anonymous source sent the 20-second video to Contact7 and Denver7 requested the full video from the police department, but were denied. After requesting the video copy, Denver7 learned that the Aurora Police Department did give the mayor's office a heads up as a "courtesy."

While a copy of the citation was not released to media, it was revealed that the officer made a notation saying, “Attitude very poor-see video.”

The younger Hancock agreed to pay a $250 fine while appearing at a mandatory court appointment. The judge asked why the 22-year-old was driving so fast. He explained he was running late.

“We addressed this matter with Jordan and he has apologized to the Officer," the mayor said in a statement released by his office. "While we do not support nor condone his inexcusable actions and words during this traffic stop, we love our son dearly and support him.”

“The Aurora Police Department was made aware of an unauthorized release of a body camera video to a local media outlet that captures one of our officers interacting with a motorist on a traffic stop," the department said in a statement. "Upon reviewing the footage at an administrative level, the officer was in compliance with Department policies throughout the encounter. Currently, the matter is pending before the City’s municipal court.Therefore, the Department cannot comment further on the details of the incident.

“However, it is of great concern to the Aurora Police Department that the video was released without departmental authorization, especially while the matter is pending prosecution," the statement continued. "We will be conducting an internal investigation into this matter to determine the circumstances under which this video was released. Any member who is found to have violated departmental policies and procedures will be held accountable.”
