A Florida-based charity that is currently under scrutiny by lawmakers over the allocation of funds under the eye of the wife of Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), Casey DeSantis, was forced to shut down a board meeting on Zoom Thursday morning after online trolls created havoc.
According to a report from the Palm Beach Post, the Hope Florida Foundation meeting came to an abrupt end after being flooded with adult images, racist comments and Nazi symbols.
That led to infrequent loss of video as administrators attempted to regain control before eventually throwing in the towel with a message that told anyone showing up late, "Host has another meeting in progress."

According to the report, "The meeting officially ended at 10:41 a.m., according to The Florida Channel's live stream schedule," adding the non-profit later issued a statement explaining, "We apologize for the earlier disruption to the public meeting. The Department of Children and Families is actively working to address the incident. Please monitor this website for information on when the meeting, which is currently in recess, will reconvene and for an updated link."
The work of Hope Florida has been at the center of a firestorm over the allegation that $10 million dollars had been diverted to political campaigns backed by the governor who is currently engaged in a war of wills with his own Republican caucus.
