Kamala Harris campaign laughs as Trump rants about 'donuts' to explain economy

Kamala Harris' campaign highlighted one of Donald Trump's answers he gave to an all-female audience at a Wednesday town hall after he was asked about inflation — and responded by talking about "donuts."

Host Harris Faulkner asked how Trump would bring down inflation — and pointed out it was already on the decline.

"Look, the interest rate hasn't come down very much and you have this — uh. You make donuts. You have the stoves. You have this. Everything has evolved," Trump said.

Trump went on to make a case that drilling for more oil would ultimately bring down inflation.

Harris' campaign highlighted Trump's donut comment, which he apparently was trying to use as a euphemism for oil.

"Don’t ever tell me again that Harris needs to be more detailed in her policies when this is what qualifies as an explanation from Trump," said national security lawyer Bradley Moss.

Conspiracy theory expert Mike Rothschild pointed out that Trump appeared to slur his words in the answer.

And Daily Beast columnist and "Deep State Radio" host David Rothkopf said, "Put a fork in him he's Don. (See what I did there?)"
