Elijah Cummings gives brutal rebuke of the GOP at Cohen hearing: The days of protecting Trump at all costs are over

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) on Wednesday delivered a brutal smackdown of Republican lawmakers during his opening statement at Michael Cohen's hearing.

While addressing criticisms of his decision to invite Cohen to testify after admitted he had previously lied under oath, Cummings slammed the GOP for using their power to cover up Trump's alleged misdeeds throughout the first two years of his presidency.

"The days of this committee protecting the President at all costs are over," Cummings said.
