Dems boo as Elise Stefanik cites Jim Jordan's wrestling days in nomination for speaker

Loud jeers could be heard on Tuesday as Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) nominated Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) as speaker of the House.

"Jim is the voice of the American people who have felt voiceless for far too long," Stefanik said. "Whether as judiciary chair, conservative leader, or representative for his constituents in West Central Ohio, whether on the wrestling mat or in the committee room, Jim Jordan is strategic, scrappy, tough, and principled."

Democrats could be heard booing as Stefanik mentioned Jordan's days as a wrestling coach. Jordan has been accused of turning a blind eye to groping allegations at Ohio State.
