Political officials and analysts are raising concerns about a potential constitutional crisis: what if President Donald Trump refuses to comply with a court ruling? However, one legal expert believes this scenario is unlikely.
"Federal judges have, let's just say, a lot invested into the notion that politicians obey their orders and obey the law. I'll use the MOST extreme federal judge out there because he makes this point clear: Matthew Kacsmaryk," wrote litigator Dilan Esper from the Washington, D.C. firm Harder Stonerock.
"How much power would Judge Kacsmaryk have to issue his crazy rulings if a Democratic administration just ignored them?" Esper asked. "It would take the entire fun out of his job. It would thwart the entire set-up of the single judge district where the conservatives all bring their cases."

He thinks if someone were to ask whether Kacsmaryk thinks Elon Musk should follow court orders, even he would agree.
"The entire apparatus the Right has built to thwart Democratic Presidents depends on this," he cautioned.
"The point being, a strategy by Musk of just ignoring the law and ignoring the courts would engender MASSIVE pushback from the federal courts. They don't have to worry about standing for any elections, and don't have to lie to the rubes in the base. They have life tenure," said Esper.
He also pointed out that Republicans don't have the power or influence to impeach a judge.
"We have a weird dynamic where many people have convinced themselves that a stupid belief (that it is possible for Musk to exercise dictatorial power on behalf of Trump with no possible accountability) is actually the Smart Take that the Experts Don't Know."
Esper predicts Musk is about to get "checked." That could put him in the kind of legal exposure that not even Trump could save him from.
"What do you think happens to Tesla or Twitter or SpaceX in all their civil cases in federal courts if Musk becomes The Guy Who Disobeys Federal Court Orders? This guy has massive business interests he wants to protect as well," the litigator continued.
