A Jeffrey Epstein survivor who voted for Donald Trump hit out at the president after he dismissed victims' experiences as a "Democrat hoax."
Speaking on MSNBC's "The Last Word" with Lawrence O'Donnell, Jena-Lisa Jones passionately challenged Trump's response to the ongoing Epstein files controversy.
Jones, who was 14 when she was abused by the billionaire, described her Capitol Hill press conference appearance as intensely personal, feeling she was "putting my life on the line" by speaking out. She directly addressed Trump, urging him to imagine if his own daughters, Ivanka or Tiffany, had been trafficked and abused.
"You have daughters. You know what it is like to raise children and to be a parent," Jones said. "Could you imagine your 14-year-old daughter having to go through what we had to go through?"
During a meeting with the Polish president, Trump dismissed the Epstein files release as a political maneuver, calling it a "Democrat hoax that never ends." Jones, visibly frustrated, responded, "I voted for him! I put my hope in him and he's supposed to protect us."
The press conference came after the release of over 30,000 Epstein-related documents by the Republican-led House Oversight Committee. Most documents were already public, leading Democrats to accuse Republicans of a continued cover-up.
Other survivors echoed Jones's sentiments. Haley Robson, a registered Republican, firmly stated, "There is no hoax. The abuse was real." Survivor Chauntae Davies highlighted Trump's past connection to Epstein, noting that Epstein kept a framed photograph of himself with Trump on his desk.
Jones's emotional plea underscored the survivors' core demand: acknowledgment and support. "We spoke our truth and you are telling us pretty much that we're lying," she said. "We need to heal, we're not healing."
Despite Trump's long-standing friendship with Epstein and Maxwell, he has consistently denied knowledge of their criminal activities.
