Ex-GOP voters flay Trump on CNN while declaring they will 'vote down the line against Republicans' in midterms

Appearing on a CNN segment over a battleground Colorado district that is seeing the GOP incumbent fighting an uphill battle to hold onto his seat, two former Republican voters said they have abandoned the party over President Donald Trump and will vote a straight Democrat ticket in November.

Speaking with CNN correspondent Dana Bash, Colorado 6th District voters John and Meredith (last name unclear) said that they were Republicans but left the party out of disgust with Trump.

"There are some Democrats I like and some Republicans I like, but I am pretty much voting all blue," explained Meredith who claims she re-registered as an independent while acknowledging it would be a protest vote.

According to John, he is leaning Republican and admits he likes the incumbent, Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO), but "my disappointment in the president is so much I might vote down the line against Republicans."

"You might do that?" Bash asked.

"I might," he replied.
