Ex-Rep. Jack Kingston attacks AOC as nothing more than a 29-year-old coffee 'barrister’

One day after it was reported that CNN cut ties with former Rep. Jack Kingston (R-GA), the right-wing lobbyist was back on cable television.

MSNBC's "The Beat" with Ari Melber allowed Kingston, a Squire Patton Boggs lobbyist, on as a guest.

When the host attempted to ask Kingston about Trump's spending his time watching TV and tweeting, the former politician instead launched a condescending attack on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

"Surely you can't say this is normal presidential scheduling," Melber noted. "Your response?"

"Let me say number one, here we have a 29-year-old coffee barrister (sic) telling a man who has made billions of dollars running management and enterprises, investments and real estate all over the globe, she's going to tell him how to manage the world?" he replied.

A coffee barista serves drinks. A barrister is a British lawyer. Prior to joining Congress, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez was a bartender.

Melber pushed back on Kingston's condescension.

"She's not being quoted today based on the fact that she worked in retail or in service, she's being quoted as a member of Congress -- the same title of yours," Melber noted. "Do you not give her the same respect of the title you held?"

"I'd say, when it comes to managing and running affairs and big corporations, I'm going to go with Donald Trump over somebody who doesn't have a track record anything outside of Congress," Kingston said.
