Ex-Trump aide flops in court after suing publication over allegations that he drugged woman he impregnated

A former aide to President Donald Trump has lost his defamation lawsuit against a progressive news website that reported on allegations that he got a woman pregnant and then tried to slip her a pill meant to induce the termination of her pregnancy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jason Miller this week was defeated in court by Gizmodo Media Group, whose publication Splinter News in 2018 posted a story with the headline, "Court Docs Allege Ex-Trump Staffer Drugged Woman He Got Pregnant With ‘Abortion Pill.'"

U.S. District Court Judge Cecilia Altonago ruled that Splinter's report about the court documents containing the allegations against Miller was a "fair and true" summary, while also shooting down Miller's contention that the report was out of bounds because it was based on court documents that had been sealed.

"Under a long line of New York cases... New York’s fair report privilege generally applies to sealed documents," the judge wrote in her decision.

The allegations against Miller were filed as part of a lawsuit involving A.J. Delgado, a former Trump staffer whom Miller had also impregnated. According to Delgado's filing, Miller had an affair with an unnamed woman in Florida, got her pregnant, and then brought her a smoothie that contained an abortion pill, which ended her pregnancy.
