Giuliani demands right to interview co-defendants who pleaded guilty in Fani Willis trial

Rudy Giuliani, one of several people charged in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' Georgia election racketeering case, is demanding to question former co-defendants who took plea deals, reported The Messenger on Monday.
"In a four-page motion, Giuliani's attorneys argued they 'will be unable to properly investigate the facts of this case unless Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee issues an order requiring the former co-defendants to be made available for interviews,'" reported Steve Reilly.
"The opportunity to interview witnesses prior to trial is the bare minimum that is required by Georgia law," Giuliani's attorneys argued in their motion Monday. "Prohibiting interviews with counsel for co-defendants is in direct opposition to the plain language of the statutes and the clearly-stated policies and purposes of the discovery rules."
Several of Giuliani's co-defendants, including Trump-aligned attorneys Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, and Jenna Ellis and bail bondsman Scott Hall, took plea agreements that, among other things, prohibit communication with current defendants including Giuliani.
All of this comes as Giuliani faces more legal disasters, with a judge ruling him liable for $148 million in a defamation lawsuit brought by Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss.
Just one day after that ruling was issued, Giuliani filed for bankruptcy, revealing debts of up to $500 million.
