Every time one candidate loses in a Democratic primary, most of their supporters eventually get over their grief and decide to supportĀ their victorious rivals in the name of party unity.
That said, there is always a very loud and tiny minority of supporters who just cannot let go, no matter how many times their favored candidates tell them to do so.
We've seen it with the "Bernie or bust" crowd this year, and we saw it eight years ago with Hillary Clinton supporters who swore that they would not vote for Barack Obama and would instead work to elect John McCain instead.
For your enjoyment and/or horror, we've put together a compilation of Hillary supporters who refused to rally behind Obama in 2008 and often trashed him in ways you'd expect to hear from a Rush Limbaugh caller.
The first woman in our compilation, for example, says that the Democrats are "throwing the election away" by nominating "an inadequate black man." Later, Chris Matthews interviews an anti-Obama agitator who says that Obama was educated in an Islamic madrassawhile growing up. When asked by Matthews to justify this statement, she cited "a 17-page report written by a congressional investigator."
At any rate, this video is a good reminder that while there will always be some loud and angry supporters who will never vote for their favorite candidate's primary rival, they're ultimately inconsequential -- after all, Barack Obama was overwhelmingly elected president in 2008.
