Florida jailer busted for slapping inmate after surveillance footage proves she lied

A Florida jailer was arrested after being caught on surveillance tape slapping a handcuffed inmate, Fox13 reports.

Cpl. Leann Hindman, 47, was arrested and charged with battery on Tuesday. She is currently free on bond, but was also fired from her job with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Video shows Hindman handcuffing a young woman at the Land O' Lakes Jail, then forcing her into a chair. As a second female deputy approaches, Hindman can be seen slapping the woman across the face.

Hindman claimed the woman used profanity toward her and threw water at her. The detention officer claimed the woman had pinched her hand while she tried to handcuff her.

But the video disputes her story. The woman's face was red after being slapped, WFLA reports.

Hindman told WFLA she was "devastated" by the discipline.
