Florida man faces prison time after accidentally shooting himself in the penis

A Florida man could end up in jail after he sat on his gun and accidentally shot his penis, the Miami Herald reports.

Cedrick Jelks, a convicted felon, was sitting outside in his Nissan Altima when he “hustled” into the home he shares with his girlfriend and made a beeline to the bathroom. His girlfriend told police she brought him to Memorial hospital once she realized he’d been shot.

Jelks served five days in the county jail back in 2004, after pleading guilty to felony cocaine possession. He is now facing prison time because it is against the law for felons to own firearms.
