Fox & Friends aghast after Quentin Tarantino dares to 'blame white supremacy for police brutality'

Fox & Friends on Thursday expressed outrage that filmmaker Quentin Tarantino linked police brutality to white supremacy.

During an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday,Tarantino responded to controversy that ensued after he attended an anti-police brutality rally in New York City and called some cops "murderers."

“I was under the impression I was an American and that I had First Amendment rights and there was no problem with me going to an anti-police brutality protest and speaking my mind," the Kill Bill director explained to MSNBC's Chris Hayes. "And just because I was at an anti-police brutality protest doesn’t mean I’m anti-police.”

Tarantino added that he believed that "a problem of white supremacy in this country" was at the heart of police brutality against minorities.

By Thursday, the Fox News outrage machine was already taking on Tarantino's latest remarks.

"Quentin Tarantino doubles down on his comments about cops," Fox News host Steve Doocy said, introducing the segment. "Now he's blaming white supremacy for police brutality. Not kidding!"

Fox News contributor Rod Wheeler, who is a former homicide investigator, told Doocy that only a "small segment of the population" agreed with Tarantino's "hateful rhetoric."

"It was Quentin that started the hating," Wheeler insisted. "He wasn't just at that rally supporting the folks there, he was at that rally encouraging the crowd to be violent, he was there encouraging the crowd to be anti-police. So it is what it is. And my message to Tarantino is just shut the hell up."

"Amen to that!" Doocy replied. "He said that the police brutality, which is what they're talking about, police brutality is from white supremacy. Hmm. What do you think about that?"

"Great," Wheeler sighed. "So, let's blame this now on white supremacy as well. You know, it must be something in the water out there in California that has the A-listers thinking they know all about all of these topics."

"Tarantino needs to understand, this is not a movie, this is real life," he continued. "There's people that's really hurting in certain communities, and the police is really trying hard to bridge that gap."

"And what he says -- and others out there in Hollywood -- is not helping the situation at all."
