Fox News asks Laura Ingraham to analyze Ferguson unrest: 'Thugs are thugs'

Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham on Tuesday explained to Fox News that there had been unrest in Ferguson, Missouri after unarmed teen Michael Brown was shot by police because "thugs are thugs."

After another night of clashes between police and protesters in Ferguson on Tuesday, Fox News host Steve Doocy asked Ingraham why "somebody would throw a gas bomb at a cop."

Ingraham asserted that Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson was making a mistake by trying to "engage with the community," and "show them we care."

"I understand that impulse, I really do," she insisted. "But we know now that thugs are thugs. People who are going to take advantage of the situation are going to do that, especially if they know that the media is all there."

Ingraham noted that "Tea Party activists" had not rioted when the IRS targeted conservative groups like Ferguson protesters had done following the death of Brown. And she added that it wasn't fair that Attorney General Eric Holder was planning a trip to Ferguson, but had not visited the U.S. border.

"And I think a lot of people who are hard-working people from all over the world who live here legally are getting a little tired of being told implicitly or explicitly because they exist that they're racist," she opined. "People are getting really tired of this. It's tough out there for everybody in the middle class and the working poor."

"Hashtag Ferguson federalized," Doocy quipped.
