Fox News guest: Trump 'can't get over his anger' at Sessions for recusing himself in Russia probe

A Fox News guest suggested that President Donald Trump may be mentally unable to move beyond Attorney General Jeff Sessions recusing himself from the Russian investigation.

"He seems to be unable to get beyond that and just beyond the basic anger that he has about that whole situation," Associated Press White House reporter Julie Bykowicz told Shepard Smith.

"In some ways, I feel like Jeff Sessions has become the scapegoat for the entire sort of Russia mess that the administration finds itself in with, you know, various congressional probes going on and of course the Special Counsel," Bykowicz continued.

"First, he fired James Comey, now he wants Jeff Sessions out," Smith replied.

Earlier in the show, Bykowicz expressed disbelief that Sessions had not yet be fire.

"It's just really a head-scratcher why the President isn't taking action on the Attorney General," Bykowicas "It's so clear that he does not want Jeff sessions in this position, he absolutely does have the ability to fire him," Bykowicz reminded.

"So the ball is somewhat in the attorney general's court at this point. we'll have to check back in with Jeff Sessions and see if yet another day of the president pretty openly dump on him has changed his mind about whether he wants to continue in this role."

"If you're Jeff Sessions, you've got to be evaluating your job on a minute by minute basis here," Bykowicz concluded.
