Fox News legal analyst ups his feud with Trump lawyer Giuliani: Pushing 'Spygate' conspiracy is 'outrageous'

Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano on Wednesday continued to slam President Donald Trump and attorney Rudy Giuliani for falsely claiming that the Obama administration sent a "spy" to infiltrate Trump's presidential campaign.

During an appearance on "Outnumbered," Napolitano said that having an informant reach out to members of the campaign who had been in contact with Russian nationals about gathering dirt on Hillary Clinton was not the same thing as sending someone to spy on the campaign for nefarious political purposes.

"The use of an informant––this professor that we’re asked not to mention his name on air––to belly up to a bar and have a conversation with someone in the campaign is such a stunningly unremarkable event, because law enforcement does this all the time," Napolitano explained.

He also took Giuliani to task for continuing to push bogus claims, even after they had been debunked by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who said that the FBI behaved entirely properly during its investigation into Trump campaign ties with Russia.

"Rudy Giuliani said they put an undercover FBI agent in the campaign," he said. "There is zero evidence for that. That is such an outlandish and outrageous allegation. It should not have been made without showing any evidence."
