Friend of Kavanaugh accuser claims she doesn't remember party -- but she believes her account

A longtime friend of Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault when they were teens, says she does not know Kavanaugh or remember the party, but that she believes her friend's story.

According to the Washington Post, Leland Keyser said through her lawyer that she "does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford.”

Keyser went on to tell the Post that, although she does not recall the party, she is close friends with Ford and that she believes Ford’s allegation.

In a statement to the press, Ford's attorney, Debra Katz, said: "It’s not surprising that Ms. Keyser has no recollection of the evening as they did not discuss it. It’s also unremarkable that Ms. Keyser does not remember attending a specific gathering 30 years ago at which nothing of consequence happened to her. Dr. Ford, of course, will never forget this gathering because of what happened to her there.”

According to the report, Ford is expected to attend the public hearing on Thursday, with attorneys for both parties still negotiating details about her appearance.
