Trump's classified docs judge agrees to hear conflict of interest argument

The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s classified documents case set a hearing date to examine possible conflicts of interest involving a lawyer who representing the former president's co-defendant, The Messenger reported.

Judge Aileen Cannon agreed to hear arguments involving possible repercussions on the cases of Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos De Oliveira and Trump's valet Walt Nauta.

It's related to attorney Stanley Woodward, Jr. who is representing Trump aide Walt Nauta, but who previously represented the person identified in the special counsel Jack Smith's indictment as “Trump Employee 4,” now named as Mar-a-Lago IT director Yucil Taveras.

Taveras is now a prosecuting witness.

Cannon has been criticized previously for delaying a decision on if she will hear the arguments. On Monday she set two separate hearings on October 12, 2023. De Oliveira's hearing will begin at 1 p.m. and Nauta's hearing will begin at 3 P.M. Cannon has requested both men be present for the hearings, The Messenger's report stated.
