George Clooney blasts billionaire Steve Wynn over who is 'coddled' and lives in a 'bubble'

Actor/director George Clooney continued his war of words with casino mogul Steve Wynn, all but calling the billionaire a liar and mocking the Las Vegas "bubble" he lives in while daring him to take off his "red sparkly dinner jacket" and acquaint himself with real life problems of working people.

"He said I live in a bubble. More of a bubble than Las Vegas? Honestly? He says I'm 'molly coddled,' that I'm surrounded by people who coddle me. I would suggest that Mr. Wynn look to his left and right and find anyone in his sphere that says anything but 'yes' to him," Clooney said in a statement released to People magazine.

The response from Clooney comes after Wynn gave an interview with Market Makers on Bloomberg, where the owner of The Mirage, Wynn, and Bellagio casinos attempted to dismiss the well-publicized argument the two had over dinner regarding the Affordable Care Act, causing Clooney to walk out after Wynn called President Obama an 'asshole.'

In the interview, Wynn explained that artists and actors  live a "very strange bubble of their own," adding that they are "molly coddled."

"They have a worldview that is...  therefore, everything should be given to everybody because everything has been given to them," Wynn explained.

Wynn added, "The actors, the Hollywood crowd, they're understandably the victim of their own special prejudice and - being in Las Vegas my whole life - we know about the Hollywood people and we love them anyway. George Clooney is fun to be with. "

Wynn insisted that he didn't call the president "an asshole"  and that  Clooney didn't call him "an asshole' in return,  mentioning that Clooney was "a little into the tequila," before adding the actor is " a good storyteller."

Clooney responded by saying that there were eight witnesses at the table who heard the casino owner disparage the president.

"He now says he didn't call the president an 'a------.' That is false, " the statement read. "He bellowed 'I voted for the a------,' and then called him the same thing several more times as the dinner came to an abrupt end."

Clooney insisted that he had not been drinking tequila since he had several other engagements to attend that same evening, before turning his guns on Wynn's comments about "living in a bubble."

"He said I live in a bubble. More of a bubble than Las Vegas? Honestly? He says I'm 'molly coddled,' that I'm surrounded by people who coddle me. I would suggest that Mr. Wynn look to his left and right and find anyone in his sphere that says anything but 'yes' to him. Emphatically. I did not attend a private boys' school, I worked in tobacco fields and in stock rooms, and construction sites. I've been broke more of my life than I have been successful, and I understand the meaning of being an employee and how difficult it is to make ends meet. "

Clooney's statement continued: "Steve is one of the richest men in the world and he should be congratulated for it, but he needs to take off his red sparkly dinner jacket and roll up his sleeves every once in a while and understand what most of the country is actually dealing with ... or at least start with the fact that you can't make up stories when eight people who are not on your payroll are sitting around you as witnesses."
