Attorney George Conway this week told progressive commentator Molly Jong-Fast that Republicans appear to have absolutely no way out of their current fight over who should get to become the next speaker of the House of Representatives.
During an appearance on Jong-Fast's "Fast Politics" podcast, Conway said that the modern character of the Republican Party is simply to cause nonstop disruption all while refusing to accept the results of democratic processes.
Conway speculated that the "whack-a-doodle" caucus of the House Republicans was adamantly opposed to Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) despite his conservative credentials because he could actually cut deals with Democrats to keep the government open -- which is something that they simply don't want to happen.

Jong-Fast marveled at the fact that Scalise dropped out of the race to be speaker even after he had received more votes for the job than Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) in a vote among the conference that was held last week.
"How does that work?!" she exclaimed. "That's not how it's supposed to work!"
"You don't understand the modern Republican mentality, which is, 'If I don't get what I want, then f--k you, I don't care that you got more votes,'" Conway replied.
Conway said that a "large percentage" of Republicans now live in a "Narcissistic La-La Land" and he said that the entire party seemed to be following the personal example of former President Donald Trump.
