GOP ad attacking Biden 'chaos' uses footage that took place under Trump's presidency: CNN fact checker

A new Republican ad attacking President Joe Biden for overseeing "chaos" features images of events that took place under former President Donald Trump's tenure.
CNN fact checker Daniel Dale reports that the new House GOP ad contains at least three images of chaotic scenes that occurred under Trump.
"At the 11-second mark, the ad shows a Molotov cocktail being thrown toward police officers," writes Dale. "This footage is from rioting in Portland, Oregon, in September 2020, after a Kentucky grand jury decided to indict one of three officers involved in the killing of Breonna Taylor."
Other images from Trump's presidency included in the ad are violent demonstrations that took place in Portland last year, as well as rioting that took place in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The National Republican Congressional Committee defended using the Trump-era images in its ad by falsely claiming that Biden and major Democrats "actively supported and encouraged the riots in 2020," even though Biden gave an entire speech in August 2020 dedicated specifically to condemning riots.
