A GOP candidate in Rhode Island is being sued by the Buffalo Bills — and just had a warrant issued for his arrest

Rhode Island GOP gubernatorial candidate Giovanni Feroce can't catch a break after being subject to a civil arrest due to owing $8,000 to a sportswear company — and that's the least of his legal problems.

The Providence Journal reported that a judge ordered sheriffs to bring Feroce — who was sued for $1 million in early April by the Buffalo Bills football team over a failed sponsorship agreement — into custody after he failed to show up to a court date spurred by his multi-thousand dollar bill owed to the Broder Brothers Company after he defaulted on a payment last May.

Feroce, the former CEO of Rhode Island jeweler Alex and Ani as well as the Benrus watch company, has a number of other pending lawsuits. The Providence Journal reported that after his rocky tenures at the jewelry companies, the GOP candidate became subject to a number of liens and lawsuits filed by the Bills, "former employees, vendors, landlords and others."

On Thursday, Feroce told Rhode Island radio station WPRO the reported potential jail time he faces for his latest lawsuit is "the biggest nonsense I’ve ever seen or heard."
