Kash Patel on Sunday made a claim on Fox News that got extensive pushback from observers, including a Minnesota gun rights group, which found the FBI head's comment to be "blatantly incorrect."
Upon being pressed by an outwardly skeptical Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, Patel said, "You cannot bring a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It's that simple. You don't have a right to break the law."
Numerous high-profile analysts responded to Patel's claim, with liberal influencer Ed Krassenstein saying simply, "This is a blatant lie by Kash Patel."
"In Minnesota, if you have a license to carry a gun, you have a right to carry it at a protest," he added.
But it wasn't just Dem voices chiming in. Instead, the MN Gun Owners Caucus also added, "This is completely incorrect on Minnesota law."
"There is no prohibition on a permit holder carrying a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines at a protest or rally in Minnesota," the group wrote.
When a reader noted that Pretti reportedly wasn't carrying an ID, which he is required to do under the state's concealed-carry law, MN Gun Owners Caucus hit back with a simple reply:
"It’s a $25 ticket," the group answered Sunday.
The group was also asked about the state's magazine restrictions, to which it replied, "There are none."
This is completely incorrect on Minnesota law.
