HBO's Bill Maher slams Trump as 'a racist Paul Revere': 'The migrants are coming! The migrants are coming!'

HBO's Bill Maher opened his last show before the midterm elections by urging his audience to vote.

"Can we stop pretending that polls are a good indicator of what people are going to do and how they're going to vote?" Maher said. "Our elections aren't even a good indicator of people's votes."

Maher said the defection of Kanye West from Trumpland was "a good omen," but that he remains worried.

"Every day it gets worse," Maher said. "Trump is like a racist Paul Revere—the migrants are coming! The migrants are coming!"

Maher then mocked Republican fear over the so-called migrant caravan of asylum seekers fleeing dangerous Latin American countries and his insistence that American troops guarding the border will shoot any migrants who throw rocks at them.

"Saying anyone who throws a rock will be treated as though they have a rifle," Maher said. "Let me tell you something, if there was a teenager from central America who could throw a rock that fast and that hard, he'd be in the Dodgers farm system already."
