Donny Deutsch predicted that President Donald Trump’s former “consigliere” could provide special counsel Robert Mueller with evidence proving both conspiracy with Russia and obstruction of justice.
Deutsch appeared on MSNBC's "The Beat with Ari Melber" on Wednesday to discuss Cohen's meeting with New York Attorney General investigators and federal prosecutors that reportedly occurred earlier in the day. Deutsch and Cohen are longtime personal friends who speak frequently.
Before they could discuss the latest news in the Russia investigation, Deutsch had a question of his own.
"What happened to Rudy Giuliani by the way?" Deutsch asked. "Where did he go?"
"What do you mean?" Melber asked. "You mean, why is he not on television?"
"He just disappeared," Deutsch suggested. "He's nowhere -- he's in a basement somewhere."
Giuliani was also mocked on the CBS revival of their "Murphy Brown" sitcom.
The two then returned to discuss the news of the day.
"The important part of this story is that Donald Trump is frightened and that's obvious," Deutsch concluded. "Michael was Donald's right-hand man."
"Do you think that Michael Cohen knows things that relate to alleged collusion?" Melber asked.
"Yes, yes," Deutsch replied. "Look, Donald Trump knows what Michael Cohen did, where he was, who he knew. So that's why he's frightened."
"So, I do not know this from Michael, but I would be shocked if -- at the end of the day -- we are not looking at both obstruction of justice and collusion from 40 different angles," he predicted. "And I'm sure Michael is in a position to help out, if that's the case."
