House GOP 'laying groundwork' to impeach Biden's homeland security secretary: report

House Republicans are requesting a transcribed interview with a senior Biden administration official who oversees deportations, Bloomberg reported.

Jim Jordan (R-OH) and immigration subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock (R-CA) reached out to the deputy executive associate director of Enforcement and Removal Operations for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and requested the interview with the official whose name is redacted in their letter.

Sources speaking to Bloomberg say the official targeted in the letter is Daniel Bible.

"The interview demand shows how the House GOP is tightening oversight of the Biden administration’s border and immigration policies and laying the groundwork for potential impeachment proceedings against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas," Bloomberg's report stated.

In their letter, Jordan and McClintock say the official is “uniquely situated to inform our oversight,”
