Trump lawyers facing 'complete disaster' if they call Nancy Pelosi as an impeachment witness: legal analyst
Reacting to a report that Republicans would like nothing better than to call House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as a witness in Donald Trump's Senate impeachment trial, Daniel Goldman who worked on the ex-president's first impeachment said they would be walking into a trap that would be a "disaster" for them.
Speaking with MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle, Goldman was asked about Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) demanding Pelosi be deposed by the president's lawyers who have been flailing to this point.
"I think it's a dreadful strategy on Trump's part," he told the host. "I think all of the threats from Trump's lawyers are a pure bluff. If that lawyer we just watched [Michael van der Veen] were to depose Nancy Pelosi, you would see Nancy Pelosi run absolute circles around this guy and it would be a complete disaster for him."
"They do not want Nancy Pelosi. They do not want the mayor of D.C. [Muriel Bowser] they don't want any witnesses," he added.
