Political analysts expressed shock at the terms of President Donald Trump's announced two-week ceasefire with Iran, reached just one hour before his self-imposed deadline.
According to the New York Times, ceasefire provisions include the U.S. agreeing not to attack Iran again and lifting all sanctions on Iranian oil, including those imposed during the George W. Bush administration.
On X, Former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger called Trump "the biggest disaster of a president ever."
Investigative journalist Scott Stedman wrote on X, "Putin smiles," suggesting geopolitical advantages for Russia.
Josh Schwerin, founder of Saratoga Strategies, expressed relief at the ceasefire but questioned whether the U.S. had capitulated, reacting on X, "it sounds like we lost."
