'Is he fit for office?': CNN panel unloads on 'crazy' Trump's ability to remain president

CNN media analyst Brian Stelter broke from his usual Reliable Sources format on Sunday to host a panel on President Donald Trump's disastrous week, and consider whether the nation headed by a possibly "crazy" president is at risk.

The CNN host noted that there is a lot of "tip-toeing around" questions about Trump's mental health, before asking, "Is the President of the United States a racist? Is he suffering from some kind of illness? Is he fit for office? And if he’s unfit, then what?”

“His actions have been described as unpresidential, unhinged and sometimes even crazy. That word crazy can be interpreted several different ways. It gets said more in private than on TV," he added before sharing clips of both journalists and lawmakers making subtle -- and not so subtle -- suggestions that something is not right with Trump.

Stelter was then joined by historian Douglas Brinkley, legendary journalist Carl Bernstein and CNN political analyst Alice Stewart, who each took their shots at Trump, with Stewart pointing out that there were questions about Trump's mental health during the 2016 campaign.

"If people are raising this question from the across the aisle, it is a legitimate story," Stewart explained, "It is a legitimate question because elected officials are raising this issue."

Historian Brinkley concurred, pointing out Republican Senator Bob Corker (TN) has also questioned Trump's competency.
