On Tuesday morning, CNN featured remarks by Vice President Joe Biden in which Biden was unsparing in his criticism of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's boasts that he doesn't pay his taxes.
Biden told the news network's Chris Cuomo that paying your taxes is "about making sure you do your part for your country."
The vice president went on to quote his father, who said paying his fair share of taxes is "a small price to pay."
"Since when does somebody who lives at the top of the world in a penthouse overlooking the world be in a position where he doesn't feel any obligation at all to pay any federal income tax to support the military, to support education, to support our foreign policy," said Biden. "Since when is that the patriotic thing to do?"
He asked Cuomo to imagine "any other president" saying what Trump has said.
"It's offensive," he concluded. "What does that say about all these people here? Are they all suckers for paying their taxes?"
"Come on, man," Biden said. "That's just not right."
