Former first daughter Ivanka Trump is not going to be able to avoid giving testimony in her father and brothers' civil fraud trial in New York, former White House ethics czar Norm Eisen said on CNN Wednesday.
This comes as Ivanka files a notice of appeal against a decision ordering her to testify, despite her not being part of the trial due to her time at the Trump Organization being outside the statute of limitations.
"Ivanka Trump is appealing a judge's ruling ordering her to testify in this civil fraud trial next week," said anchor Wolf Blitzer. "How do you see this playing out?"

"I think she's unlikely to be successful in that appeal, Wolf," said Eisen. "It is true that she was dismissed from the case because her management responsibilities in these businesses came outside of the statute of limitations. But she still has firsthand evidence about these gaps in the valuation, where they shift. Sometimes there are many times the actual value of the properties shifts. The judge and the state are entitled to that testimony."
All of this, Eisen continued, is a big problem for the Trumps.
"She also could be potentially a very damaging witness against her father and her brothers and the Trump Organization," said Eisen. "And I think she is going to be forced to testify."
