For Jessica Reyher Jan. 6, 2021, was a "devastating day" and one where she and others "went too far."
In a letter to the judge set to sentence her next week for taking a plea to a felony offense of civil disorder, the 38-year-old expressed her regrets to what transpired on that day, and admitted that she didn't cast a vote for former President Donald Trump.
"I apologize formally to police officers and my country for being part of the crowd on January 6 that made it hard for police offers to protect the Capitol," her letter reads, and first reported by CBS correspondent Scott MacFarlane. "I wasn't there for Trump, I did not even vote for him."

The reason that the Indiana woman attended the "Stop the Steal" rally with Arthur Reyher (who also pleaded guilty) was because she "believed then that there had been election fraud and I just wanted our voices to be heard for a fair election."
She thought that day was going to be one of "peaceful protest" and that she had "never intended to hurt anyone."
Arthur and Jessica were arrested on March 15 of last year and convicted on Nov. 6.
The couple was captured on video venturing into the Capitol Building tunnel where Arthur could be seen raising his hands in the air belting “Our house!” while assisting others to push past the line of officers trying to hold them at bay.
Three times the Reyhers would rush the tunnel, exit, and then return to join other rioters who were sprayed with a chemical irritant.
With their body weight pushing against officers and using shields, police riot batons, and throwing projectiles at officers — they managed to rush into the tunnel.
Looking back, Jessica claimed the emotions that day were "high" and she feels as though she was involved in something that was hard to control.
"I got caught up in the atmosphere around me," she writes. "That is said in no way an excuse or justification for my actions."
She also feels great regret, because, she writes "even if there was election fraud, we should not have done what we did. I went too far."
She added: "Looking back, I would have done things differently and never been part of such a devastating day."
The convicted woman claims she's since been "labeled a traitor" and has had her "life threatened from complete strangers."
