Notorious Trump DOJ official who pushed department to overturn election will meet with MAGA riot committee: CNN

Notorious former Trump DOJ official Jeffrey Clark has reportedly agreed to meet with the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th riots at the United States Capitol building.

CNN reported on Friday that Clark, who served as Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division, will testify before the committee next Friday.

The committee alleged in its subpoena of Clark that he was "reportedly involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and interrupt the peaceful transfer of power" and that it is seeking "deposition testimony and records from Mr. Clark as part of the Select Committee's investigation into the events of January 6th and the causes of that day's violence."

Former Trump acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen has alleged that Clark pushed the DOJ to launch an investigation into the election results in Georgia, despite the fact that no credible evidence had emerged to justify such a probe.

When Rosen resisted this plan, Trump mulled firing him and replacing him with Clark, who was more eager to carry out his orders. The former president backed off this plan, however, when other top DOJ officials vowed to all resign in protest should Trump fire his acting attorney general.
