Jen Psaki cuts down Peter Doocy when he asks if vaccine mandates are why Biden's friend can't get hospital care

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Friday brushed back an attempt by Fox News' Peter Doocy to blame vaccine mandates for the fact that a friend of President Joe Biden is having trouble getting hospital care.
Biden earlier this week said that he called a Pennsylvania hospital to ask why a friend of his was having difficulty getting admitted for care, and he was told that the problem was that the hospital at the moment was overloaded with patients suffering from the novel coronavirus.
Doocy started off by asking Psaki if Biden was trying to strongarm the hospital into admitting his friend over other people in need.
"That was not his intention," Psaki replied. "He was not trying to do that. He was checking in on a friend."
Doocy then pivoted to the topic of vaccine mandates.
"Do you know if this particular hospital was having staffing shortages because they have a vaccine mandate and maybe some folks have had to leave because they don't want to get vaccinated?" he asked.
"I would love for you to account for me where that is the issue more so than the number of unvaccinated who are filling emergency rooms and ICU beds," she said. "That is the problem in hospitals across the country."
